Maintenance
Proper mound maintenance is imperative to keep the Semerano Mound in optimal condition. With the Semerano Mound, plateau and slope will always be consistent and accurate, if proper mound maintenance occurs after each use. Please follow the steps below:
STEP 1:
Broom sweep the affected areas of all loose material (clay or conditioner) into a nearby pile. The affected areas are:

1. in front/around the rubber
2. where the landing foot hits
3. any other affected areas on the mound.
*Be sure ONLY the top of the Semerano Mound frame is showing.
STEP 2:
Roughen these areas by jabbing with a spaded shovel. Be sure not to damage the frame. Moisten areas with water. DO NOT SATURATE.
STEP 3:
Sprinkle in the mound clay to appropriate levels of the surrounding plateau and/or slope.
STEP 4:
Tamp vigorously until the newly sprinkled clay mound is sufficiently level to the surrounding areas. Repeat this step until level and smooth to the surrounding area. NEVER HIT THE SEMERANO MOUND FRAME WITH THE TAMP.
STEP 5:
Using a leaf rake, spread mound conditioner evenly (add more if needed) in a straight direction from top/back of plateau and straight down to the front of the mound, parallel to the frame slope. Finish raking in a circular pattern in the areas outside the frame and along the grass line. Lightly spray entire mound with hose water and cover with a mound cover to keep moist.

NOTE: NEVER USE A COARSE RAKE ON THE SEMERANO MOUND
